Riviera Quilters Inc. consists of a group of around 110 members who meet regularly for fellowship and further learning of skills and techniques associated with their art.
The club has been a group member of Victorian Quilters Inc. since 1991, with some members coming from as far away as the NSW South Coast, Latrobe Valley and Melbourne.
Many activities are held in the form of workshops and retreats, held in lovely venues throughout Gippsland.
Every two years an Exhibition of members’ work is held in Bairnsdale where funds are raised for a chosen local charity, the most recent being the District Nursing Service.
Our quilters have used their talents and skills not only for their own enjoyment, but also to provide worthwhile support for organizations across the country. Members have sewn quilts for victims of bush fires and flood, sick children, as well as local and Melbourne hospitals. These quilts are often made by members and donated, but much fun and friendship is also enjoyed on special ‘gift quilt-making’ days.
New members are always welcome, as are visitors, travelers and friends.
